Ascent to Mt. Khustup from Verin Vachagan
Hiking & NatureA three-day expedition to climb Mt. Khustup (3201m) via the Verin Vachagan route. This path offers more impressive views and higher relative elevation than the standard route, passing mostly through dense forests. Note: this is a difficult trek suitable only for experienced hikers. Itinerary Day 1: Yerevan – Kapan – Verin Vachagan. A 4 km hike to the campsite on the mountain slope. Evening by the campfire. Day 2: Summit push (22 km total, 2000 m altitude gain). Return to camp. Day 3: Hike down to Verin Vachagan and return to Yerevan. Heavy gear will be transported by 4x4 vehicles. Food is not included. Required gear: Sleeping bag and mattress (available for rent for 5,000 AMD), hiking poles, headlamp, raincoat, hiking boots, warm layers, and personal utensils.
