The ascent to Armenia's highest point (4090 m) starts with a truck transfer from Aragats village to the Gegharot Gorge at 2900m. We will hike past the Gegharot waterfall into the crater, then push for the summit via the north-eastern saddle. Route length: 13 km Altitude gain: 1100 m Difficulty: Moderately challenging Participation is limited to those with recent mountaineering experience (ascents over 3000m) who are confident in their physical abilities. Required gear: Backpack, one-day food supply, water (min 1.5l), personal first aid kit, sunglasses, sunscreen, cap, warm clothes, headlight, and raincoat.
