Ascent to Mount Azhdahak (3597 m), the highest peak of the Geghama mountain range. From Yerevan, the group moves to Geghard village and continues by GAZ-52 truck to the starting point at 3,000 meters. The hike first leads to the beautiful crater of Karmir Katar, followed by the ascent to Azhdahak's summit and its crater lake. Along the way, we will see Lake Vanki, ancient petroglyphs, and vishapakars (dragon stones). Route length: 12 km Altitude gain: 700 m Required gear: Backpack, trekking poles, one-day meal, water (at least 1.5L), personal first aid kit, sunglasses, cap, warm clothes, headlight, raincoat, sunscreen, hiking gaiters, swimsuit.
