The National Gallery of Armenia presents an exhibition of Karen Ohanyan’s recent works as part of its Prospectations series. The exhibition revolves around the multiple meanings of the Armenian word 'ban' (thing, matter, or substance). It addresses delicate subjects often avoided in public discourse—power, masculinity, violence, and vulnerability—as well as the literal matter that constitutes bodies, memories, and power structures. The works suggest that fragility, rather than being the opposite of strength, is the very condition from which true resilience and human connection emerge. Works commissioned by Sharjah Art Foundation and Adamian Hovsepian Curatorial Practice. Curator: Tamar Hovsepian
