The Artist as Image: A Photo-Chronicle
ArtsThis exhibition explores the evolving trajectory of the artist’s image through photographic portraiture from the late 19th century to the present day. Drawing from the National Gallery’s extensive collection, the display examines how the artist transformed from a private individual into a public cultural figure, and later, into a consciously constructed persona. The showcase features portraits of more than 50 artists, including: Hovhannes Aivazovsky, Hakob Gyurjian, Georgette Chen, Martiros Saryan, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, Sergei Parajanov, Armine Kalents, and Minas Avetisyan.
