For three months, students conducted research at the market, interviewing its characters and studying their lives. The script consists of the literal ("verbatim") speech of real people taken from interviews and testimonies. When John returns home early and catches his wife with a lover, the quick-witted Felix pretends to be Babken—a secret lover from another apartment who jumped onto the balcony to escape an angry husband. The ruse almost works until a second man appearing to be the "real" Babken shows up with the exact same story. With the sudden disappearance of John’s mysterious suitcase, chaos ensues as everyone struggles to figure out who is who and what is actually being hidden. Presented by Menk Theater.

Their act became the voice of an entire generation dreaming of freedom, dignity, and a different reality. Directed by Artur Saribekyan, the production brings to life the tragic end of that dream.
