GAIA TERRAIN
ARé Fest-2026 GAIA TERRAIN SIMON FISHER (Australia) ARTIST'S PERFORMATIVE TALK Simon Fisher’s practice blurs the lines between fine art, artistic exploration and a drive to collect and archive. Fisher often combines everyday objects into playful creations, with his curiosity and technical proficiency, honed through years of professional work across the art, theatre and architecture industries, leading to explorations of painting, sculpture, collage, photography and new media including virtual reality. Fisher also drew on his childhood in Kenya, where his early inspirations came from watching local craftspeople and makers working by hand. Late in his childhood and early adolescence, Fisher moved to the United Kingdom and later Australia, adapting as he went to new cultures, materials and environments.
