When Rivers Speak: Maud van den Beuken

What would change if, instead of looking at a river, we tried to listen to it? Maud van den Beuken’s artistic research focuses on rivers, their materiality, and time. Walking along riverbeds, working with sediment, and tracing the slow transformations of surrounding landscapes, the artist approaches water not as passive scenery, but as a material, spatial, and sonic presence. The exhibition centers on four major rivers, including the Araks River as an essential thread of the local context. The sound installation was created in collaboration with ceramic artist Sose Stepanyan and composer Sophia Bardoutsou. Curator: Nazareth Karoyan Exhibition design: Ruben Arevshatyan
