7 Lakes + 7 Fortresses: Hiking in the Kachkar Mountains
Hiking & NatureA three-day expedition to Changhovit, the area with the highest density of mountain lakes in the Armenian Highlands, now known as the Seven Lakes of Sper. This itinerary combines hiking through the Kachkar Mountains with visits to the historic fortresses of Tayk and Gugark. Program: Day 1: Yerevan – Ardahan – Yusufeli – Sper. Kalejik and Berdadzor fortresses. Overnight in Sper. Day 2: Hike to the Seven Lakes. Sper fortress. Overnight in Sper. Day 3: Nikhaqh, Orjnhagh, and Oltu fortresses. Hike to Kajats fortress. Return to Yerevan via Ardahan and Gyumri.
