An ascent to the highest point of the Armenian Highland — the Northern Peak of Aragats (4090m). Starting from the Gegharot gorge (2900m), which we reach by truck from Aragats village, the route leads through the crater and across the North-Eastern saddle to the summit. This is a medium-to-hard difficulty hike. Previous hiking experience and proper gear are strictly required. Route details: • Length: ~11 km • Elevation gain: ~1300m Essential gear: • Comfortable warm clothes and sturdy, thick-soled hiking boots • Backpack and a change of clothes • Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, and a raincoat • Water (1.5-2L) and food for a picnic • Personal first aid kit Meeting point: Amiryan-Abovyan intersection (Republic Square) at 05:45.
