We are heading to Tavush to Mantashaberd to discover the charm of this medieval fortress. Mantashaberd, also known as Ashot Erkat's (Ashot the Iron) Fortress, was built in the 10th century during the Bagratuni dynasty. It is surrounded by high, steep cliffs, making it impregnable. The final section of the road leading to the fortress has a steep incline with a slippery part; we will overcome it using ropes to reach the fortress safely. This route is ideal for those who love to combine natural beauty, historical heritage, and small adventures.
