Hamshen 3 Days

Hamshen is one of nature's greatest wonders; at the same time, the region and its surroundings are rich in numerous historical monuments: medieval fortresses, magnificent churches, and unique bridges. Don't miss the opportunity to not only enjoy the fairytale nature and discover the unique local history but also to get acquainted with Hamshen traditions, daily life, wonderful costumes, and songs. You will also taste Hamshen dishes and participate in a tea ceremony. Day 1 | Gates of Paradise Route: Yerevan-Gyumri-Akhalkalaki-Kartsakh. Visits: Black Lake (Shavshat), Tbeti Monastery, Shavshat Fortress, view of the Chorokh River. Dinner and overnight stay in Hopa. Passing through Bavra and Javakhk, we will enter mountainous Ardahan, and from there move to the forested province of Shavshat. First, we will head to Black Lake, then visit Tbeti, one of the majestic cathedrals built by the Bagratunis, and the famous local fortress. Day 2 | Paradise Visits: Twin Bridges, Manjuna Waterfall (approx. 2 km hike), Furtuna River Gorge, Çamlıhemşin, Zil Castle, Balahovit Waterfall. Lunch: Hamshen dishes and tea. Free time in Ayder, overnight stay in Hopa. Day 3 | The Fairytale Visits: Borçka district, Dolishana Church, Hell's Gorge (Ardanuç), Ardahan Fortress. Borçka Black Lake can be added to the tour for an extra fee with the group's agreement.
