The hike starts from Artabuynk village, heading first to the medieval Tsakhats Kar Monastery before continuing to the heights of Smbataberd Fortress, overlooking the Surb Nshan and Zorats churches of Yeghegis. Total distance is around 13 km with a 600 m elevation gain. Hiking boots and appropriate trail gear are required. A food court stop is planned along the way.
