Hike in Gnishik Canyon
A trek along the trails of Bezoar goats with sweeping views of Noravank from above. The hike starts from the village of Gnishik, winding past abandoned settlements and the yellow-red rock walls of the Gnishikadzor valley. After taking in the panoramic view of Noravank from the top, the route leads to the abandoned village of Amaghu and descends along the Gnishik River. • Route length: 13 km • Altitude gain: 500 m Meeting point: Martiros Saryan park (please arrive at least 10 minutes before departure) Includes transport and guide service. What to bring: Backpack, at least 1.5 L of water, one-day meal, warm layers, raincoat, sun protection (cap, sunglasses, sunscreen), personal first aid kit, headlamp, and sturdy hiking footwear plus a spare pair of shoes. Trekking poles and gaiters are optional. Booking instructions: 1. Call 043 00 5165 or message the Armenian Geographic Facebook page (Mon–Sat, 10:00 AM–6:30 PM). 2. First-time participants must complete the registration form: https://bit.ly/3Yhra9b 3. Transfer payment to Armgeo LLC (InecoBank), account: 2052 0222 1888 1001 (include your full name or phone number). 4. Send a screenshot of the receipt via Messenger to Armenian Geographic. Cancellations must be made at least one day in advance by 12:00 PM. No refunds for late arrivals or last-minute cancellations.
