ArmWay Hiking Club

A specially designed 4-day expedition to reach the summit of Mount Ararat. The program includes daily altitude adaptation and a visit to historical Kars. Day 1 – Departure from Yerevan, travel through Georgia and Turkey to Dogubayazit, ascent to 3200 m. Day 2 – Trek from 3200 m to the 4200 m camp (approx. 5–6 hours). Day 3 – Summit day (5137 m) starting with a night ascent, followed by return to base camp. Day 4 – Return to Armenia via Igdir and Kars. A climb to the highest point of the Geghama Mountains — Mount Azhdahak (3597 m). The route leads through the summit of Karmrakatar to the volcanic crater and its alpine lake. To save energy for the main ascent, a ZIL off-road vehicle will transport the group to the starting point near the base. Route details: Distance: 12 km Elevation gain: 550 m Duration: 10-12 hours Difficulty: moderate Required gear: Hiking backpack and proper footwear, warm layers, gloves, trekking poles, sunscreen, headlamp, personal first-aid kit, raincoat, food and water for one day, power bank. Participation fee: 13,000 AMD.
