Tamasha and NPAK present the world premiere of The Wanderer, a new Armenian folk tale for our times co-created by Silva Chobanyan and Abi Zakarian. Ara travels far in search of belonging. Drawn to a fabled mountain in Armenia, she begins an arduous journey to its summit, encountering a magical landscape and mythical creatures who help her find a route to the peak and to herself. This multidisciplinary performance reimagines Armenian myths and folklore through a story of identity, heritage, and diaspora. Weaving together text, video performance, and live participation, the work features an evolving patchwork tapestry where each patch represents an echo of memory carried across generations.
