Entangled

20265m

A teenage girl uncovers the physical thread connecting her everyday life to the ocean. The film tracks the trajectory of a red balloon as it moves from her hand in a party supply store to its eventual destination: the stomach of a sea turtle. The film dismantles the "myth of away,” the convenient fiction that an object ceases to exist the moment it leaves our sight. Entangled reveals that our discarded things never truly vanish; they simply stop being ours, until the loop closes and we are forced to reel them back in.
