Vladimir Airapetian: The Moon and ³He Resources

Vladimir Airapetian: The Moon and ³He Resources

Translated

Keynote lecture by Prof. Vladimir Airapetian of NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and American University as part of Armenia Engineering Week. Helium-3 is exceptionally rare on Earth but could play a central role in the future of clean nuclear fusion. Over billions of years, the isotope has accumulated in lunar soil deposited by the solar wind. Prof. Airapetian will share new findings suggesting that the young Sun may have deposited significantly more helium-3 on the Moon than previously estimated. He will also introduce LUNARHAND, a lightweight instrument designed to detect and measure helium-3 directly on the lunar surface. Registration: https://bit.ly/4xJX0LZ
