Alex Vartan Gubbins reads from his debut poetry collection, Decoding the Hill of Dead Kings. The reading will be followed by a short discussion. The collection paints a portrait of a life lived between two homelands: Michigan and Armenia. Written primarily in English with some poems in Armenian, the work probes the conundrum of diaspora — feeling rooted here, there, and in neither place entirely.
