Workshop by Constanza Macras

A 2-days workshop built around the practice of Constanza Macras — one of the most radical voices in contemporary dance, whose work brings together dance, text, live music and film. Developed for Proposed Circumstances, the workshop offers participants a rare opportunity to engage firsthand with an artistic method that has been breaking boundaries on the world’s most important theatre stages for over two decades. This workshop explores the intersection of physical and text improvisation through exercises that encourage the spontaneous generation of movement and language. The focus is on developing an original text within a process and integrating it with movement. The workshop addresses how the body can generate theatricality, how it expands meaning, and how it shapes narrative through physical expression. Participants are invited to explore the dialogue between words and movement, and to investigate how these two elements can nourish and transform each other.
