A fashion object can be more than something we wear. It can carry a memory, an idea, a place, or a story. Marie-Aude Baronian, associate professor of visual culture at the University of Amsterdam, brings together her research in film, memory, archives, fashion, and material culture for this workshop. Participants will explore storytelling as a tool for developing and communicating fashion ideas. Through fashion theory, case studies, creative exercises, and discussion, the atelier examines how narratives shape the way fashion objects and collections are created, presented, and experienced. The final outcome will be a developed fashion narrative for a personal creative project, object, or collection, giving ideas greater depth, coherence, and meaning.
