A ceramic atelier led by Jeanne Bonnefoy-Mercuriali, exploring the detailed mishima decoration technique based on engraving, colored slips, and graphic lines. Drawing on Jeanne’s experience from Yemen, Palestine, and Oman, the workshop blends traditional craftsmanship with sculptural sensibility. Inspired by Armenian motifs from textiles, carpets, jewelry, and architecture, students will develop sketches and learn how to translate flat drawings onto curved ceramic surfaces. By the end of the atelier, each participant will create a pair of vases featuring mishima patterns and their own interpretation of Armenian motifs.
