hosq concludes its series of meetings with art historian, curator, and Director of Exhibitions at the Cafesjian Center for the Arts, Armen Yesayants, with a symbolic lecture. The event is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the renowned Armenian artist Grigor Khanjyan. Joining Armen for the discussion is art critic and curator Lilit Sargsyan. Lilit will discuss Grigor Khanjyan’s artistic legacy within the context of the "Thaw" — the post-Stalin liberalization period in the Soviet Union — and the rise of national consciousness. Armen Yesayants will present the history of the creation of Grigor Khanjyan’s monumental triptych mural at the Cafesjian Center for the Arts, as well as the restoration work carried out ahead of the reopening of the Khanjyan gallery. This includes the iconic works "Armenian Alphabet," "Vardanank," and "Armenia Resurrected." Language: Armenian. Entrance is free with registration.
