Vagharshak Aramyan … and Metaphysics

The art of Vagharshak Aramyan (1945–2006) is an exploration of the world through a transcendental prism. In his works, bodies, faces, and objects lose their stable boundaries, taking on impossible forms within compositions governed by their own internal logic. While formally echoing surrealism through fantastic transformations, Aramyan’s work aligns ideologically with metaphysical painting. This exhibition covers a broad range of his creative legacy, including a first-time display of graphic works created between 1967 and 1968. Metaphysics is presented here not as a definitive label, but as a key to interpreting the vision of a self-described "wondering man," under whose gaze the ordinary becomes mysterious and reality becomes infinitely interpretable.
