This lecture traces his metamorphosis from the unnamed boy in 'Dubliners' to the young poet in 'A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man' and the disillusioned intellectual in 'Ulysses'. Maxim Zhuk will analyze the symbolism of Dedalus's name, the evolution of his language alongside his worldview, and the multi-stage trials the poet undergoes to master the Word while battling Logos and Chaos.
