Hamahoonch at Backyard

Jun6Sat, June 616:00 - 19:00
Backyard2 Vagharsh Vagharshyan St, Yerevan, Armenia
Sold out

Our next circle will take place at The Backyard, a cozy café on top of the hill, with grass, open air, and a beautiful view of Yerevan. This time, we’re introducing registration for drum spots. We’ve noticed that it takes time to settle into the rhythm, especially for beginners. When drums keep changing hands, the rhythm keeps resetting. So if you register for a drum spot, the drum is yours for the whole circle. You’ll stay with it from beginning to end, giving yourself enough time to enter the rhythm, relax into repetition, and experience the more meditative side of Hamahoonch. Djembes go to the first 12 registered participants who arrive, so come early if you want one. After the drums are taken, you’re still welcome to join with small percussion instruments like shakers, no registration needed. If you bring your own djembe or percussion instrument, you don’t need to register.
