A work of art is not a closed, dead object; it is an energy that transforms, moves, and is reborn. Yerem Karapetyan's (YERKAR) performance is a metamorphosis of his book Yerkar [Long], as well as of his body and voice. Standing before the microphone, he reads his quatrains, tears out the pages, and glues them onto his skin. The sound of tearing paper erupts into the space until the physical book is empty and his body becomes a living, breathing "text." As an act of conceptual closure and liberation, he cuts off his hair and places it inside the empty cover, shattering the old image so only a reborn presence remains. Duration: 20 minutes.
