CYFEST 17: Sound Art "Waves Earth" is an improvised music performance conceived in 2026. Extremely minimalist in its approach, it can also be described as a manipulated sound installation or an object theatre. Two performers sit at a table with an electric guitar lying flat between them. Sounds captured by microphones are transmitted directly to the guitar strings through two exciters, converting sound into vibrations. The performers experiment with objects, strings, and sounds without knowing what the other will do, creating unpredictable results, with a 50 Hz electrical hum introduced at some point during the performance. Petra Dubach and Mario van Horrik are Dutch artists working with movement and sound.
