Art Mediation: The Face of Humanity

Translated

An art mediation centered on humanism, its manifestations, and its meaning, held at the exhibition "The Face of Humanity: Vardges Sureniants' 'The Abandoned' and Humanistic Art". We will discuss how humanism has been expressed across eras and how individuals gradually gained freedom, individuality, and rights. We will also explore the flip side: how humanistic ideals have crumbled, distorting the fates of people and nations, as reflected in three masterpieces by Vardges Sureniants. The centerpiece is the 1894 painting "The Abandoned", first shown at the 22nd Peredvizhniki exhibition and brought to Yerevan from Kazakhstan 130 years after its creation. Along a curated route, we will view selected works, examine them through guided questions, uncover their meanings, and work with a "humanistic dictionary" to interpret the art more deeply. Language: Armenian Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes Capacity: 10 participants Price includes gallery admission. Registration: advance registration and prepayment required.
