In 1955, Radio Yerevan began broadcasting in Kurdish. At a time when Kurdish culture was on the brink of destruction, the radio waves offered listeners a sense of safety and a connection to the world. As the Kurds used to say, "Radio Yerevan smelled like home." In this performance, the reflection on this history serves as a starting point to explore what a radio of solidarity might mean today. By Alexander Plotnikov, Maral Kasbarian, and Manvel Sargsyan Duration: 1 hour Language: English with Armenian and Russian subtitles
