Who Shapes the Art World Today?
A lecture by art historian and former researcher at the Sergei Parajanov Museum, Hasmik Gevorkyan. Two of France's most influential collectors have spent almost half a century in competition over fashion houses, the auction market, premier Parisian venues, and the attention of artists. Their collections are not an escape from this rivalry, but its continuation. In 1999 they clashed over Gucci, and Pinault emerged victorious. A year earlier he acquired Christie's, to which Arnault responded by purchasing Phillips. When Pinault's museum on the Île Seguin was never built, he moved his collection to Venice, while Arnault opened Fondation Louis Vuitton in a Frank Gehry building in the Bois de Boulogne. Pinault returned to Paris only in 2021 at the Bourse de Commerce, just minutes from the Louvre. The core difference lies not in scale, but in the name on the facade: Pinault Collection reflects the personal choice, taste, and decades-long artist relationships of one individual, while Fondation Louis Vuitton carries a brand name, integrating art, architecture, and fashion into a single image.

Armenian art platform centered on exhibitions, public programs, and research around contemporary culture. Its events lean curatorial and dialogue-driven, featuring talks, private tours, artist encounters, and other intellectually oriented art experiences.
