Graduation Films Programme 1
Graduation Films Programme 1 of the ReA Festival 2026. Competition programme, judged by the festival jury. The Little Train by Angel Wang (United States · 3:38 min) After years of use, a small Christmas train is thrown away and forgotten. Can this discarded toy find new meaning through transformation? MagiMart by Abe Enoch (United States · 4:20 min) In a world of fantasy and magic not entirely unlike our own, there stands a super store called MagiMart, wherein a sacrificial goat munches idly on hay. Hilarity ensues. The Land Keeps Watch by Iryna Tanasivchuk (Estonia, Ukraine · 7:52 min) The living Mountain makes friends with the Hiker following his act of kindness towards it, but not before long, a war breaks out and tears them apart. We see the war through the eyes of a living landscape as it suffers like humans do, and rises up to defend itself. Silence by Yoona Hwang (South Korea, United States · 3:01 min) Tacet, a mischievous yet art-loving deaf boy, experiences a musical concert in his own unique way. By clutching a balloon to feel the stage’s vibrations, he transforms sound waves into a vivid visual journey. As star-shaped confetti dances within the balloon, Tacet’s imagination takes flight through endless bamboo forests and abstract shapes. When the music ends, he joins the audience with “silent applause,” raising and shaking his hands, celebrating a harmony that transcends sound. Each, All and Every by Nikoletta Veress (Hungary · 11:29 min) Mr Rabbit is unable to decide what to become when he grows up. Overwhelmed by the number of choices, he instead escapes into his imagination and creates tiny replicas of himself. Watching these copies he explores a new world full of possibilities. He enjoys this situation until one fatal mistake: through his own fault, he loses one of his opportunities. This loss overcomes his senses. Balance by Diego Sáenz, Laura Franco Santos (Mexico · 6:26 min) As an android samurai laments his clumsiness and the fact that he isn't as skilled a warrior as his predecessors, he accidentally unleashes the evil spirit that killed his comrades. Now he must find a way to defeat it. The Panic Inside by Matthias Strasser (Germany, Switzerland · 8:33 min) How does a chronic people-pleaser, who struggles to say no to his friends' constant requests, finally learn to set boundaries, confidently say no, and reclaim his personal freedom? Dorian by Julia Borkowicz (Poland · 10:29 min) A film based on Oscar Wilde's "The Picture of Dorian Gray". The titular Dorian struggles with overwhelming loneliness and anxiety, trapped in the snare of eternal youth. Here and There by Kora Lee (Australia · 2:37 min) Have you ever left somewhere familiar to start over in a new place? Here and There follows a young girl who moves to a different country, grappling with the confusion of settling in, the sadness of missing her family, and the isolation of not understanding the language in a bustling café. As she faces the challenges of independence and seeking belonging, her journey reveals that, even in the most challenging moments, we are never truly alone. Wet Shoes by Pauline Vassal (France · 10:00 min) Two best friends spend the night in jail after an altercation at a pub, one of them starts to reconsider where he stands in this relationship.
