In Parisian high society, a group of influential men gather once a week for a cruel game: each must bring an "idiot" to mock at dinner. This time Pierre brings François Pignon, seemingly the perfect target. But Pignon is a fool only in their eyes; he is genuine, unpredictable, and dangerously simple-hearted. In a matter of hours, the game unravels and laughter turns to awkward silence.
