The performance is based on an oriental legend about a king and a beautiful dancer. A heavy, grim atmosphere and a sense of impending danger hang over the palace. The young king tries to maintain his balance, while the queen, wishing to ease his state and relieve tension, invites actors to the palace. They begin a dangerous game of temptations about Life and Death, drawing the royal couple in. The royal Peacock constantly attempts to warn them of the game's danger.
