Cafesjian Center for the ArtsThe Cafesjian Center for the Arts presents an exclusive public screening of fragments from Ai Weiwei’s 24-hour live performance, "Sewing a Button." The project reflects on the artist's 81-day secret detention by Chinese authorities in 2011. Inside a reconstructed prison cell, Ai Weiwei recreates his daily routine—sleeping, eating, writing—while undergoing interrogations conducted by invited British writers and journalists. The audience can observe him through CCTV cameras, mirroring the perspective of the guards during his imprisonment. July 3 19:30 — Introductory talk by Armen Yesayants on Ai Weiwei’s life and art 20:00–23:00 — Start of the performance July 4 12:00–14:30 — Live broadcast of the interrogation scenes Entry is free with mandatory pre-registration.
