TUMO StudiosThis exhibition presents a contemporary rug collection by The Rug Code, rooted in the symbols and traditions of Armenian carpets. Named after the historical name of the Noyemberyan region, the collection reinterprets ancestral motifs through a modern design language. Developed through research into 19th-century Armenian rugs, each symbol has been translated into new compositions in collaboration with artist Gohar Martirosyan. Hand-knotted from natural wool using time-honored techniques, these rugs are woven narratives where heritage meets craftsmanship. BARANA invites visitors to experience rugs not just as objects, but as living cultural documents holding memory and identity within every knot.
