MYTH AND MACHINES / Michel Kessler Artist Talk & Film Screening :DDD Kunst House / 03.10.2026 / 18:00 @michel.kessler_associates @teresa_davtyan Tereza Davtyan in conversation with Michel Kessler Moving between film, poetry, sound, architecture, theatre, and information technology, Michel Kessler’s work explores how these fields transform one another: how a poem becomes a spatial proposition, an image suggests a musical structure, or a technological process gives an ancient myth another life. The conversation follows these exchanges through his projects and research, asking how emerging technologies reshape imagination and how older forms of thought continue to act within them. Myths, dreams, rituals, and archaic energies recur in contemporary images and spaces. How do these forces meet the material and geopolitical conditions of the present? Together, Tereza and Michel will consider artistic practice as a way of entering unfamiliar territory and sustaining independent thought. What room remains for ambiguity when images and ideas are expected to circulate quickly, communicate clearly, and acquire a market value? How can poetry resist commodification, moralism, and conformity without retreating from the world? A conversation about the relationships between different ways of thinking and making, and the freedom to pursue questions beyond comfortable or predetermined answers.
